WORKING FOR JESUS!!

LAST NIGHT WE WENT TO FEED THE HOMELESS IN BIRMINGHAM WITH THE CHURCH. I HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE AND KNEW I WANTED TO,BUT WAS SCARED AT FIRST ABOUT TAKING THE BOYS WITH ME. THE CHURCH WENT LAST MONTH AND MI MI AND PAW PAW ASSURED ME THEY WOULD BE JUST FINE. SO, I STARTED TALKING TO THEM ABOUT IT DURING THE WEEK AND THEY WERE SO EXCITED BY SUNDAY. WELL, SUNDAY CAME AND JAX WAS NOT FEELING GOOD AND I THOUGHT WE WOULD JUST SKIP THIS MONTH AND GO NEXT MONTH. THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE. WHEN I TRIED TO TELL AUSTIN WE WOULD GO NEXT TIME AND HE COULD GO AND HELP MI MI BAG THE COOKIES FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN HE WAS MAD. HE WENT TO HELP HER AND SHE TRIED TO TELL HIM THAT SHE AND PAW PAW WOULD BE BACK LATER AND HE STARTED TEARING UP. HE WANTED TO TAKE THOSE COOKIES TO THE MEN AND WOMEN, SO WE ALL BUNDLED UP AND OFF WE WENT. I AM SO HAPPY WE WENT. IT WAS SUCH A BLESSING AND I DON'T THINK ANYTHING COULD MAKE ME MORE PROUD THAN TO SEE MY LITTLE BABY BOYS WORKING FOR JESUS. THEY SAT UP ON THE TABLE WITH THE COOKIES AND WHEN THE MEN AND WOMEN WOULD COME THROUGH THEY WOULD GIVE THEM THE COOKIE BAGS. THERE WERE ABOUT 150 OF THEM LAST NIGHT, WHICH IS LOW BECAUSE ALOT OF THEM TRY TO GET INTO THE SHELTERS RIGHT NOW WITH THE COLD WEATHER, BUT THOSE BOYS MADE SURE EVERYONE OF THEM HAD THEIR COOKIES AND WERE MAD WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GO. AIDEN GOT IN THE CAR AND SAID, "MOMMY WE DID NOT GIVE THEM ANY LUNCH ABLES OR POP TARTS." IT REALLY DOES AMAZE ME AT HOW MUCH THOSE LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD MINDS CAN COMPREHEND. I KNOW THEY DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE DOING,BUT THEY KNEW THEY WERE FEEDING THESE MEN AND WOMEN BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY HOMES AND THAT THEY LIVED ON THE STREETS. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS GIVE TO OTHERS AND UNDERSTAND JUST HOW MUCH JESUS HAS BLESSED THEM. MY HEART ACHES FOR THOSE MEN AND WOMEN. I COULD NOT IMAGINE EVEN SLEEPING ONE NIGHT OUTSIDE IN THIS COLD WEATHER,MUCH LESS LIVING ON THE STREETS DAY IN AND DAY OUT. I PRAY THEY WILL ALL FIND WARM PLACES, BUT MOST OF ALL I PRAY THEY WILL ALL FIND JESUS!!!

ps. this is the only picture i took bc i was busy watching them and did not want to upset any of the men or women, but i had to have at least one to show them one day.

What a great experience for them! I am sure that is something they will always remember. My family cooked and served dinner on Sunday night at The Foundry Shelter and it was such a great opportunity.
